I Waited For You
I waited for you
You never came
I headed back home
Wondering who was to blame
I called you on the phone
Your voice mail was full
I scratched out a note
And posted it just the same
We rely on one another
For all the wrong things
I don't know why I bother
We're going down in flame
When we started out
We really kicked ***
Over time though
Neither of us garnished any fame
What did we expect
There wasn't a pair of ears to hear
Our best laid plans were tom foolery
We had the right tools for the wrong game
