A ritual performed, The morning after
Facing the fear of letting go, Moving on
Opening the door to the unknown to come
A release sought at grief’s last phase
Opening the eyes, Accepting the fate
A ceremony had alone in bed
Laptop in lap, Deleting away
Photos, videos and voicenotes made
A Bonfire would have been great
But for safety sake T-shirts were fed
To the scissors fetched with fire in hand
Pieces in trash, digits erased
It is final this time Not a single tear
Was shed.
