Where the wind cannot find a friend
It’s just a ghost town trying to get away
I didn’t bother to board up the windows
So you can imagine how things used to be

I’m trying not to over-react anymore
It’s hard to get used to things right away
I don’t like rearranging tomorrow today
When I’m still cleaning up yesterday

I’m not love sick about anyone right now
Every pretty face is just a heart full of fear
I know what to do with sweet rain falling
Would it be better with you I’ll never know

I listen to every word, see every face
You see so little as you pass me by
What’s missing is what I don’t talk about
My past decides what it is you should see

I want to light a candle in a storm
The eye of a hurricane needs help
Nothing works like it did before we met
But the match in my hand will light for you
