I knocked and knocked
and shivered in the cold
But nobody did open the door

I was waiting outside
like an unwelcome guest
with no one to greet me
or to hearken to my gest

I come along every night
by your doorstep for just a sight of you
or maybe a whisper of your voice
If not, only a digitally inscribed word or two

However, my chances are few
since there's no one at home and there's nothing to say
I leave with nothingness for the night
To come again by the day
