Picking petals
I have it when
I'm not with itΒ then
I lose track,
looking back
it was always thus,
someone said,
is it the hippocampus?
now how the **** would I know
the answer to that?
I take a squint at the small print,
don't see any clues,
they're just trying to confuse me
like they always do.
But when it's there
oh boy,
I share it with her,
the girl,
and you feel it
in the curl of your hair,
your toes
she knows
I do too.
I never feel blue then
when I have it,
never lose track then
when she's with me
I guess that's being happy,
so
glad that I found it.
I find the introspective lookback interesting in that the future was there all along, of course falling and being in love moved me along considerably.
