I have a determined mind to climb the highest mountain
There no tire nor thirst from any fountain
I won’t let anything hold me back
My mind must be focused and on track
Yet there is racism of my ***** skin
I am a man and won’t give in
The Civil Rights Movement was a time for change
Fast forward beyond the past being tomorrow’s Civil Rights in rearrange
I am the overcome with legacy of shall
My Ancestors left their mark in stay the course
Heaven guides being the force
I stand in my own right
It’s a protest, but not a fight
I was once in darkness, but now I have light
My point could be made well into the night
Struggles make one strong and not condone to defeat
I am proud to stand on my feet
You have won the battle and don’t even know it
It was a matter in being confident and assured
Freedom, Dignity and Pride all have their own accord
Yet be thankful as blessings only come from the Lord.
