Is the enemy of the people
A free press?
Or is it someone
You might not have guessed
Like a person
Who nevertheless
Is defined by
His acts of excess

Is the enemy of the people
A free press
Or a leader
Who lacks largesse
When it comes to
Those he detests
Mexicans, Muslims
And the rest

Is the enemy of the people
A free press
Or the leader
Who’s like an abscess - tooth
But I guess
I digress
Cos I had to get it
Off of my chess

Is the enemy of the people
A free press
Or a faux populist
Of the noblesse
Who promises more
But gives less
And whose childish impulses
Are unsuppressed
