With a whistle the beeper shrieks 6:45
once a day every day all today
blaring, beeping, beating
Stop! Breathe.

Steaming water hisses into the house
weighed down by romping kids
grabbing, grasping, gathering
always on the go.

I smother my day with febreeze,
and mix, stir, boil my life into simplicity
choking, gasping, breathing
Stop.
Breathe.
Go.
