The large woman
Who each day took
Up two seats on

The bus, while she
Was listening
To her mp

3player and
Chewing boiled sweets,
And dreaming of

Meeting and then
Marrying her
Mr Right, and

Looking straight out
Ahead at Max,
Giving him the

Eye, smiling and
Revealing her
Decaying teeth,

Has died; and none
Will attend her
Funeral at

Half noon today,
Except the priest
And the thin dame

Upstairs in the
Large woman’s down
Town apartment,

Who had borrowed
Sugar many
Times, but never

Brought it back and
Maybe Mr
Right who lived just

Across the hall
With his mother
And who dreamed of

The large woman
And he making
Love together.
