The intro's only there so we
know where to begin,
some begin before not knowing
what the intro is for,
I ignore them.

The bald headed man
with the pince nez nose
knows about intro's
but he doesn't know me,
just as well really
I've heard he's a killer.

At the end where we spend
most of our time
what matters the most
is not the hostess or host
but
who attended the gala.

In Barraclough street on
the council estate
in a front room parlour
I sit out the wait
smoking
a cheroot
