It can all seem so far away
when
close is just a game we play
for comfort.

What's the alternative?
dragging me back to
the **** and a ten pack
doesn't cut it,
I run that bit through
the memory banks and
say
thanks but no thanks
flood the tanks and
submerge

Always best not to submit
to an urge where urgency
is or probably could be
a major catastrophe.

Carrying on and surfing the
curve ball
putting some more time in
building the wall
between now and then,
remembering how
now and again
seems
so far away.
