High streets before Christ.

We're in the year of the dollar
when cops feel your collar
and you can't get no love
for your money.

An I.O.U is taboo and
your letters of credit are
maxed.

We confess to these facts
and they're absolved of
some sin,
it's a back to front way of
putting on a spin.

if the mistakes that we make
take us away from the light,
then who in the darkness can
say who is right?

In a strange kind of way
on a stage some would say
with a throwaway line
it's okay to be weird,
it's alright to feel
fine and at the same time
it's not.
