Jan 2017
Strengthened by our family ties
Yet wrapped-up in the week
Despite our peachy states of mind
Tomorrow looked like rain
Treading in the floodwaters
Of one more hurricane

Yet we serve to feel their pain
And share it as a team
For divided we will fall
But together we will rise
Beyond the tempests of ourselves
To clarify the skies

From the blue and grey disguise
Behind the clouds we hid the sun
Shining through the open doors
To meet their needs we must restore
The broken home communications
Starting at the corps

Lest we forget that we're the tide
The constant force of change
We ebb and flow in harmony
Or crash upon the sand
No disasters come between us
Or the oceans that we've spanned

And I have been at your command
To guide you through the storm
A drifting captain's leadership
Found purpose in his crew
The cargo beating in my heart
That ever carries on for you
