Swollen skies collapse splendidly

Earth bound and abrasive

You surrender into concrete and nowhere knolls

Windows echo your impact

Each drop emphasized by a muted musing

Falling separately in your haste

You reunite once shattered

Across your vast grey expanse

Ponds patter
puddles pool
Rivers lengthen
confines complicate

Hydrate the oxygen
let it taste your acidity

Wash away the insect empires
let them rebuild under calmer skies

No dams constructed
No moats for a world's draining

Disregard their momentary show of force

It was fleeting compared to your timeless tinkering
