Even if
Planned
Were the directions
As obsolete
As the reasons
For the journey
Once no one
But you
Was interested
And what lay ahead

Even if we were
To go along
There would be
Arguments
About where to stop
Where to go
Or which stations
To listen to
On the radio

Not like today
Where silent miles
Whirl Away
Beneath those
Encapsulated
That listen to
Which emanates from
Whichever source
Now substitutes
For the arguments
And the compromises

All in all
I wonder if the Riders
In the cocoons
Of
Independent
Absentee
Interactions
Realize what it is
That they
Will someday find
Was missing
