A Journalist and Author gone
It’s Gwen Ifill America mourns
Politics being her mount
Heaven has given her prize
We as the living must realize
Knowledge and Understanding being Ms. Ifill’s perfection
This was her analysis being the intersection
PBS Washington Week being the indication
Ms. Ifill was Politics front and center
Come along and become part in enter
Straight to the core
Discussion for sure
A round table of Reporters analyzing in explore
Washington’s questions and answers no one wanted to ignore
The half hour to the end
Ms. Ifill starting from when
In between Ms. Ifill being an Author in writing a book
Yet Washington often took a look
Ms. Ifill always inspired me
The Capitol has dimmed their lights
Ms. Ifill has given up the fight
Yet I see loss written in flying kites
Tomorrow arriving ahead of schedule
But yesterday more than a memory
The flags all wave until we meet again
Ms. Ifill says, “My time has come”
But don’t feel lonesome
I have been lifted up
The Lord carried me to my new home
It’s a place that all will roam
But I won’t say goodbye, I have given my eternal life a try
But don’t you cry
Until we meet again.
