Stills in the Frost
Open your eyes
Here in the arctic white
Witness a disappearing act
The blinding snow
Bleaches sight
Light for months on end
Then darkness
Hanging low under the sun
A blanket of sleep
Wake up to the company of stars
Fall asleep as you travel
Deep sea dreaming of horizons afar
And deeper still
Where halls hum
Your feet they land on marble floors
This feigning cold more real
More piercing than anything
Sinking softly through your heels
Winter stretching out its long arms
Cradling the sky in hazy icicles
I let its cold touch seep into my bones
And from my breath
The vapour of a clouded whisper
Stills in the frost
