They said read between the lines
I’ve known you so long the lines are gone
Somebody asked me to walk straight
I can’t seem to do it anymore
So I decided to write my own
Maybe I’ve written too many things about you

I was hoping we could move past all of this
I don’t need a mystery to love you
Maybe you can’t forget what you think you are
A woman who hides behind her face
But I’ve seen what is behind your eyes
And I believe in that more than you do

I have to let it all out of me
I wanted you to know everything
Even though you’re not here
I know you believe in all of it, every word
So I’m going to say it, even if white walls
cannot feel the colors that only I knew
