WAR
I can never seem to understand,
The honour of defending one's homeland,
By pumping rivers of blood,
Hiding mass graves in the mud,
How much more can humankind withstand?
This peom was originally intended to be a limerick but ended up far too serious for how limericks are traditionally written. Nevertheless, it still has the basic format of a limerick.
