Why does the sun like to show me my shadow Every morning as I start my day So long and lanky, it’s right there before me Seemingly happy to show me the way
Then as the hour brings me into lunchtime It’s just a blob lying there at my feet While I devour a tuna fish sandwich Maybe it’s waiting for something to eat
Come later on I will see it behind me Following me every where that I go Why does the sun like to bring me my shadow Someday I’ll ask him then maybe I’ll know
