No Love to Weep
I said cry me a river,
he filled it with stone.
He built me a castle
with nowhere to go.
I said find me a flower,
he picked one with thorns.
He gave me a bouquet
with no one to morn.
I said give me a diamond,
he gave me a dime.
He asked me a question
with no words in mind.
I said love me a lifetime,
he signed one with ink.
He swore me a promise
with no words to think.
I said show me a promise,
he made one, not to keep.
He left me a lone
with no love to weep.
