Send me chicanery and

I'll give you jiggery pokery

get over and done with the things that have hurt you

I passed the mile post and am well on my way

what have you done today?

jealous, green with envy?

you should be

but I know it's not me that

you see in the headlights.

The nights I admired you

the morning

saw through you, your

lace on the bedroom floor

and I wondered when was it that

I was the one for it and

did I deserve this at all?

I have passed all those moments that shadows

can cast

I am beyond the black sinews of fate

send what you will but you will have to wait

first come, first served

is what I deserved

I don't think I deserved anything less.
