Waiting 'Round To Die
We’ve seen the kings and queens
in a thought or in a dream;
the better selves we wish to be
in silken cloaks of red and green.
They proudly stand against the sky,
without the doubt,
without the
why
,
while living breathing versions of us
are
merely
waiting
‘round
to
die.
