I am a black man who stands with pride and responsibility
I am the person who strides on family providing
My responsibility is to lead
Having understanding to proceed
Yet society has labeled me
It’s a message of don’t trust what you see
Society’s purpose that I have no right to speak
I dare not even tweet
However I have reason to live
I am more of a verb than an adjective
Society would rather delete me in subtract than be wise in multiply
But here’s why, it all started from history back
Slavery being part of the track
But Freedom to excel was the civil rights movement being a combat
Yet history seems to be revolving itself
A shade of another color doesn’t fit in the Crayola
The mission seems to state, “**** until Dead”
Some Police present lack of trust
Just shoot being a must
But justification has taken a negative turn
The focus of a minority feeling like a sandy Urn
Emotions being aggression
Respect a question not needing permission
Being a Black Man
I Stand Alone
But the multitudes of Life Matters in efforts in letting it be known
We need life that will be soothe into smooth
There is everything to prove
Change that must come
We must move forward from
Life is worth living until Heaven says it is up.
