Now I lay me down to sleep
I pray no lord my soul to keep
There is no force of which could reap
The nothing teeming in the deep

So if I die before I wake
No angel heralds my daybreak
Nor demon hand may try to take
For I am of a darker make

A child of a loveless womb
A ghost within a nameless tomb
A mask over a faceless gloom
A blight upon a boundless bloom

In my quest to find the light
I've never seen the world so bright
Yet fade it did to mundane's plight
Succumbing once again to night

Black ink within each twisted vein
And wicked thoughts inside my brain
Converging through my heart to stain
These pages bleeding out in pain

Yet words are all I have to show
How lost and lonely I must go
Into the void of bleakest woe
Deceased before the dawning's glow
