Do you remember
The evening sun setting on the brow
                         You lied upon with concern?
Not for the darkness approaching us but
The sigh you refused to disavow
For me! Let my heart burn

Do you remember
How the blanket under our weight soaked
                         With tears of understanding?
Not even the splinters and bladed grains
Of grass and the rocks ripping provoked
For me! Let our hearts stay stranding

Do you remember
What cheek the absent streams took to smears
When my eyes and voice did frown?
Not did the maiden's hand shake with wetness
But instead cradled the forgone tears
For me! Let my heart drown
                         For I deserve not thee
To my love!
