I am sorry
That I was hungry and you were weak

I was insatiable
What I had was not enough
And you were there
Irresistible
Sweet and perfumed
As coy and cloying as candyfloss
I had to consume you
And throw away the paper stick
Damp from my tongue
I wrote this poem in less than a minute as an exercise about writing from the perspective of someone whose viewpoint you disagree with but empathise with.
