I have had my dreams I made
with the night only fade
watched all that I would hope
in flame's go all up in smoke

I seen the world around me cruel
as I played a King
to only turn out to be the fool
waiting for a tomorrow
that what yesterday couldn't bring

I felt pain drowning in my sorrow
seeing what life would only take
that it could no longer borrow
dying inside to feel awake
with what I could not now make

But through it all I kept my head held high
****** it in and stood with pride
when the Devil walked by my side
I held my hands up and reached for the sky
for life is a game we sometimes can't choose
and I was bound here not to lose
