Lock ‘em up
And throw away the key
Ain’t that what they did
To the average ******
Especially if they looked
Like you or me
But they now have a different
Attitude we see

Now it’s not limited
To those ghetto Herbs
Today it’s prevalent
In the white suburbs
So it’s an issue
That suddenly disturbs
Middle America
Where it now occurs

Drugs are something
For us to all hate
Some it caught early
Others quite late
But either, or
It can seal your fate
For those who've know
Drugs don’t discriminate

They agree upon nothing
But on this they’re all in
Miraculously - efforts to fight drugs
Are bi-partisan
We don’t have to wonder
When did it begin
So we never have to equivocate
Or try to pretend
