I broke out of my cage
My own world I separated myself in.
I now feel free
a new man
He made his stand
Now the war he fought earned him a bonus in his spirit wages.
No matter what sick words the world shoved at him
No matter what false beliefs people had about him in their heads
Could cause his heart to grow ill and die
Now his freedom of the burden lightens from his back  instead.
He smiles back at the ones who cheered him on
Out of the cage he is now growing strong
Still at the start of making himself a new life
A once broken man won't have to be repaired twice
He survived the odds
Near death
He played dice with the Reaper. Laughing at the win
His support of the greater good grows deeper.
Hatred is a word that never flows through my mind
I look back at my life
I still have regrets that cut through my back like a wicked knife
Never allowing myself to stay down when I'm knocked out
I go for round ten
Here he is.. A Boxer in life
He asks, "Is this all you've got for me?"
He spits out excess emotional blood as he exclaims with a giggling shout.
He's broken from his cage and he is never going back.
He's been through hell and back before.
He's feet are moving.
He's gone.
He's running the race
Sneakers hit the floor.
Now comes the end of this rhyme
It's not quite a happy ending
It's a stronger, more inspired one.
Now watch this man run
forward
At hearing the shot of
Life's race's loaded gun.
