I’m right in between
The man with the horse’s head
And the horse with the elephant’s skin
As kaleidoscope-eyed insects are crawling all around me

In the distance I see green valleys
A paradise regained
Where beauty is not only in the eye of the beholder
But there for all to see

But I’m stuck here in the inferno
Where ghouls are the least of my problems
My attention grabbed by the walking set of teeth
And the fire-breathing bird-like herd.

For in here the owls are not what they seem
And creatures near me are eerily freakish
While my eyes are set on the lush lands ahead
I’m stuck in the middle of the gruesome and the dead
