In the distant hills
there was calm
A breeze slapped
their faces.
A sharp reminder
Hard cases
distant hills.
Above and beyond
they travelled.
The clip and the clop
of shoes on rock
a heavy burden
The tick and the tock
of the old clock.
Time went by too quick
the breeze returned
this time it was clear
A crack of the whip
sent the horse to a dimension
now it was like fog
a time blip.
In the distance
rain ceased play
like the old clock
time had to pay.
the breeze returned
He had nothing to say
Hard cases
Distant hills.
