She was sent away
They didn't understand her here
She used to have wonderful dreams
But they never lasted
Because
Always, just before
It got good
She would begin to smile
And then
She woke up
And the room
Was not hers
And the house
Was not her house
And the air
Was not her city air,
And the bed
Was not her bed
And that place
Was not where she belonged.
