From observation
Something is wrong
Relationships today
Don’t last as long
Commitments aren’t
Binding or as strong
As they once were
People move on

I’m just curious
So I thought I’d ask
Is monogamy
A thing of the past
Relationships today
Don’t seem to last
In my opinion
They end too fast

(2nd Verse)
There are reasons
For this phenomenon
So I thought that I
Would try to list some
Like people who cheat
And then play dumb
Or people who lie
Leaving you numb

I’m just curious
So I thought I’d ask
Is monogamy
A thing of the past
Relationships today
Don’t seem to last
In my opinion
They end too fast

Why can’t we commit
And make that it
Which is not happening
From where I sit
How come some people
Want to explore
But the question that arises
Is what for

If you have someone
Better hold on tight
And do all you can
To treat ‘em right
Forget about the mysteries
Of the night
If someone offers you an apple
Don’t take a bite

I’m just curious
So I thought I’d ask
Is monogamy
A thing of the past
Relationships today
Don’t seem to last
In my opinion
They end too fast
