You run on ahead, Full of life
Fresh as the flowers we pass,
I'm coming, i'm following
Slowed down by the weight of life...
You make me smile
Make me run with you
And
Before you know it,
I' m out of breath.

I sit and rest, watch you at play
My mind wanders to yesterday
When I was young and played in
The Sun...
Where's My age of innocence gone?

Your running
Toward me
Calling ' Dad!'
My arms are
Wide open, to catch you...
You
Make me smile.
Son, it's fun with you!
And
Before you know it...
You
Will be a Man.
