Conductor
On a number thirteen
London routemaster bus
A passenger
Once asked
The bus conductor
‘How are you?’
‘I’m enjoying life’
He replied
‘Enjoying life’
I was a school boy
And my bus travelled steadily
Along the Finchley road
The conductor rang the bell
Twice
To signal the driver
And then he whistled a tune
He was happy
And for the duration of our journey
We were too
