I chose not to lie down to let fools win.
I got back up from a fall
Reaching higher for the light in my life
And standing taller before I fell and the hurt did begin.
My huge heart told my legs "get up!"
My spirit spoke to my eyes "now see!"
The best advice in my life, alone, it didn't. Hold a big enough spark.
Until friends of true heart added their hand.
A vital ingredient.
For a new "brew" to drink after success's cups were raised.
Seeking nothing but respect and true gratefulness..
A newer life created...from the one fallen..
Such a new drink is called "unrelenting"
To the older drink which we chose to cheer with
"numbness"
Avoiding challenges we became reckless.
Then after broken bones heal
After our fall...
Out senses and spirit grow through healing and such help us survive.
To create our brighter future
Raise your drink...
A toast to our well earned "happy ever after it all!"
