Black man run bare feet,
Like hot coals jumpin' beneath his soles
You can take his body, but not his soul.
I am a black girl, whose body is void of soul,
They stampede-crushed it beneath their feet.
I have marked death under their soles.

***** and ridden black, black soles
***** and ridden black, black souls,
Death lingers in the path, led by your feet

Unknown to the soul, without soles, without feet
