Lost Or Stolen
I heard you liked to
save, that you called yourself
a saviour
so I pulled my knees
tight to my chest, rocked myself
to sleep
grew my hair long and dyed it
gold
found an oak tree to tie my silk
scarf around the strongest branch
my neck poised, like a cat
ready to pounce
and waited
now, they're out with torches burning
voices calling my name
in the soft leaves of the forests
they look for footprints
and I
foolish and desperate
cling to you, like an icicle
(fitting for our frozen hearts)
and I have been lost
or stolen
