Since you've been gone
The tangles in my hair are turning dreadlocks
and my legs have become much like the legs of my bed
And I lay their for hours on a stretch
thinking of you

Since you've been gone
I leave my curtains drawn
all is grey
I do not wish to know what time it is
for it is all the same
the light in the day holds your essence and the dark of the night yearns your presence

Since you've been gone
I've become rather withdrawn
From myself and others
I do not wish to be entertained by their stories
and do not wish to continue mine without your dialogue in our conversations
So I've dismissed myself from overt communications

And since you've been gone
I find my self stretching
to your side of the bed
and I stuffed your empty wardrobe with the books you've read
and my tea is poured in your favourite teacup
so that I can cover up the spaces you left
with the little space of me
