I got my haircut
By the same women
I have been going to

For the last 10 years

And at this barber shop
A woman in her 60's

Helped her father
In his 80's or 90's

Get his haircut

And the young man opened the door
For them

And there was the father
With his young children there

And I saw
The farmer's market
At the park

And people exercising
Young and old

And I thought
Overall
We are a pretty good people

And I thought how grateful
I was to have food
And shelter

And I considered
A day when
This would all be gone

It's no guarantee
What we have now

Well
At least I appreciated it
While everything
Was so easy
In America
