Sitting around
waiting for the big moment
endless hours skim around
the bare face clock
The clock wont lie
It has one face not two
Unlike the town hall clock
that must tell some stories.
Waiting around
not in a busy crowd
but in rows, on lonely chairs
looking to one's left
then to the right.
Then back to the floor
Waiting in rows
nowhere to go
just through the cold door
Seem to be waiting forever more.
Waiting for Christmas so it seems
it will be here quicker than you know
papers will be torn,
on the day A Baby was born
Waiting for the New Year
Bells ring out, lights adorn the sky
another year goes flying by
A new year will ring
and what will it bring
happiness, or yes I hope so
I will wait gladly for that one.
