Dec 2015
We stand close together.
Close enough,
That I can
Feel your heat radiating off your body,
Your knees bumping against mine and
Your hand is tenderly entwined with mine.
We're so close,
That when I look deep into your clear blue pools of cool waters and
Into you soul,
I can see that
We're not close at all.
You're not even here.
We are standing closer to each other now.
Your arms are wrapped around my waist,
But instead of feeling
At home I feel like and unwanted guest in this rundown place.
My head is cradled in your neck and I can
Feel you, but
You don't feel real.
I put my hand over your
Heart
Because you said your heart
Beats to the rhythm of our
Love,
But instead
I felt a different beat.
