Nightfire

You smiled at me from across the room.
I fell inside, it was my souls tomb.
My breath stopped with my heart in tune
A feeling deep beyond desire
You fanned the flames of my nightfire

You enraptured me  a married man
You do it just because you can.
My passions were like burning embers
You blew a kiss as my heart remembers.
Then an inferno of raging nightfire
Burning high like my funeral pyre.

I come to you and you take all
I cannot resist your sirens call.
Inside my heart my deepest shame
I say no more but come again.
Your prisoner in my nightfire chains.

Cheating on my wife, I am now a liar
Burning guilt in my own nightfire.
I leave your bed and then go on home
Lay by my wife we are both alone.

You are the devil I can tell
Taking my soul down with you to hell.
A wanton nightfire jezabel.
No more freedom all my wants burn higher
Burning forever in your nightfire.
infidelity guilt helplessness
