she sat on the ground and looked at her trembling hands,
admiring how little control she had over her own body.
she heard the thunder telling her to go home,
but she didn't obey -- she felt safer amongst the lightning bolts.
see, she was not frightened by the heavy rain,
nor did she fear snow or hailstorms.
cold weather did not scare her at all,
for she was a child of the winter.
