we walk into a
new poem

let out a
vulnerable moan

try on each
other's skin

seek out the
scars on our arms

tell their ugly
war stories

realize our teeth
help us forget

and our fingertips
attract pulsing colors

when our chests
light up

we know
it's meant
to be
cassi
