Deception
Truth laid waste at the gate of reason
The mind now black as night truth shut out by evil’s blight
At the core and center of man is rot and treason
His deepest desire to have that which is real and lasting, settles for allusion
No one is fooled they truly are blind and can’t see
Inside they feel they know something is amiss
Oh for out of the night a voice to successfully plead you can be free
Generations of the past beckon, don’t end up like me
Paths so vast more skilled than I this way did pass
Allurements filled with power, in awe I did cower
In my smallness I was over-wrought I shall break as glass
Oh to be invincible as the great mountain
Wayward steps make the loudest sound
At first comfort then with distance all grows quiet
Silence abounds the heart feels disquiet all around
Too late now for the light has gone out from neglect
Waste and drought I drag myself through
Bent and bowed with earthen gain, hard to bare the strain
My judgment colored, I wish someone could stop the pain
Simple were the childhood days if only someone would hold my hand
Freedom and liberty the quest we settle for nothing less
Then to those we leave behind our lives would truly bless
To address the morning sky bright and blue
Our spirits on fire going straight and true
Do not be unwise self you have justly tried
He can’t make a lie the truth
Though he speaks words of life eloquently at truth we have arrived
To our glad surprise it lies outside ourselves at the truth we have arrived
The path is found only when trust is kindled
You don’t understand this is the hardest test
Look at the cost see how many have been cheated
This is a mystery that confounds the wisest of men
Famous quotes below will drive the message home

Liberty is the most jealous and exacting mistress that can beguile the brain and soul of man. She will have nothing from him who will not give her all. She knows that his pretended love serves but to betray. But when once the fierce heat of her quenchless, lustrous eyes has burned into the victim’s heart, he will know no other smile but hers.
You can only protect your liberties in this world by protecting the other man’s freedom. You can only be free if I am free.
