You used to be the harbinger of disdain
I thank you deeply for unfurling my blemishes to all
Apprehension followed me around every bend
Doubting my own moral ambiguity
At war with all around
Now pushing to break me down
Persistence shall be my armor my confidant
Never become a token on that vile board
How cynical as the blemishes evaporate
I am no longer an ingrate
