Me
In a time before time was
Lived a man in his cave
He did things like a man does
Showing no emotion calling it brave

However, he lived like every other man
Doing what he ought, following his plan
He never thought of what he couldn’t see
He only thought of the man called me

In his mind there was only a higher being
In some strange way this gave him meaning
Irrationality seemed to be in his nature
His logic was nothing more than a fracture

He could never understand why
Some birds walk and others fly
Yet busyness seemed to be the solution
As his time became his pollution

As the days turned to weeks
His mind grew more leaks
Never taking time to think
His life was gone in a blink

Here is a man like you and I
Who never asked the question why
Simply going through life’s motions
Responding to everyone else’s notions

He lost his identity in the rush
So we must learn to take note
Take the time to help yourself hush
And read the letter God wrote
