The darkness calms me,
soothes me to sleep.
  Makes me imagine terrifying things,
that not even the eye can see.

I watch these creatures.
I watch them sleep.
  Sometimes smiling,
   As they imagine the deep.

They see flowers,
and beautiful things.
  Such as the sea,
   and birds that sing.

They see life,
For what it could be.
They feel emotions.
  They sip the sweet tea.

And as I sit here watching,
wanting to return.
  I watch you sleep.
   And wait for my turn.
